Food & Wine Cruise Itinerary
Day 1: February 1, 2026 (Sunday) – Santiago (San Antonio), Chile
Eclectic, artistic and buzzing with energy, the capital city of Santiago is well worth the drive across Chile’s scenic Central Valley. Framed by snow-capped Andes peaks in the distance, ‘panoramic’ barely describes the view from San Cristobal Hill.
While the true flavor of Santiago is best found along its vibrant streets, a visit isn’t complete without snapping photos of La Moneda (Presidential Palace), Plaza de Armas and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Discover an intriguing collection of Latin American artifacts and paintings at the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art.
Such a cosmopolitan city guarantees fantastic culinary options; indulge in everything from takeout empanadas to creative fine dining.
Day 2: February 2, 2026 (Monday) – Cruising the Pacific Ocean
Day 3: February 3, 2026 (Tuesday) – Puerto Montt, Chile
The first German colonists arrived to this area in 1852, and have remained to the present day, a small but influential percentage of the 130,000 inhabitants. The town spreads along a narrow seaboard and climbs the slopes enclosing it to the north.
Since 1985, the city has experienced considerable growth and development, fueled by more than 30 salmon farms, in addition to forestry, fishing industries and service companies.
A gateway to Chile’s picturesque lakes and spectacular indigo mountains.
Day 4: February 4, 2026 (Wednesday) – Puerto Chacabuco, Chile
There is an old Chilean proverb that states, “If you are in a hurry in Patagonia, you are wasting your time.”
In Puerto Chacabuco, a Chilean town in the Aysen commune, time passes at the leisurely pace of nature’s cycles. The gorgeously landscaped town is a small, isolated settlement situated along the wild-west fjordland coast.
Patagonian ice sheets fall into the sea and the area provides a chance to view Black Necked Swans and the endangered Giant Condor.
Day 5: February 5, 2026 (Thursday) – Laguna San Rafael, Chile
Nothing will prepare you for the nearly 200-foot-high wall of blue ice that awaits in Laguna San Rafael, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve celebrated for its otherworldliness.
The world’s lowest-latitude tidewater glacier, Ventisquero San Rafael descends from the Campo de Hielo Norte and meets the frigid waters of Laguna San Rafael, where massive chunks calve off and become indigo icebergs.
While the biodiverse wilderness has remained mostly unchanged since John Byron – grandfather of the famous poet Lord Byron – was famously shipwrecked here in the 18th century, the glacier itself has been in continuous retreat since 1960. Climate change is expected to hasten its retreat.
Day 6: February 6, 2026 (Friday) Cruising the Chilean Fjords
Day 7: February 7, 2026 (Saturday) Cruising the Chilean Fjords
Day 8: February 8, 2026 (Sunday) Punta Arenas, Chile
Punta Arenas or ‘Sandy Point,’ is the most prominent settlement on the Strait of Magellan and the capital of Chile’s Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena Region.
Founded in 1848, Punta Arenas was originally a remote military garrison and penal colony. Today, it is the charming gateway for a number of exhilarating experiences viewing the awesome majesty of Torres del Paine with its soaring peaks and rugged beauty.
Day 9: February 2, 2026 (Monday) – Cruising the Pacific Ocean
Day 10: February 10, 2026 (Tuesday) – Ushuaia, Argentina
Here at the bottom of the world, mountains and sea come together like in no other place in America. Considered to be the world’s southernmost city (though that is up for a heated debate), Ushuaia is the capital of the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego.
Day 11: February 11, 2026 (Wednesday) – Ushuaia, Argentina
The town of Ushuaia has an interesting museum and a variety of shops selling everything from souvenirs to duty-free luxury items.
Day 12: February 12, 2026 (Thursday)- Cruising the Argentine Sea
Day 13: February 13, 2026 (Friday) – Puerto Madryn, Argentina
Situated snugly in a well-protected bay of the Golfo Nuevo, Puerto Madryn is the Chubut region’s natural access point for the plains of Patagonia, a vast area covering a third of the country, but occupied by less than four percent of the population.
The area was originally settled by a group of adventurous Welsh immigrants some 120 years ago. Although the town appears today unmistakably Argentine, Welsh customs, names and even some of the language have survived.
Puerto Madryn is your portal to the amazing nature reserves of Punta Tomba and the Peninsula Valdes.
Day 14: February 14, 2026 (Saturday)- Cruising the Argentine Sea
Day 15: February 15, 2026 (Sunday) – Cruising the Argentine Sea
Day 16: February 16, 2026 (Monday) – Montevideo, Uruguay
Laid-back Montevideo is home to nearly half of Uruguay’s population. The relatively small capital is the nation’s only major city, yet visitors do not come here in search of the hustle and bustle of a large metropolis.
It is said that Montevideanos themselves travel to Buenos Aires and São Paulo when they crave big city excitement.
As Uruguay’s cultural, political and economical center, the city boasts a good number of monuments, museums and impressive architecture.
Day 17: February 17, 2026 (Tuesday) – Buenos Aires, Argentina
Rivaling Madrid or Paris for sophistication and culture, the tree-lined boulevards of fashionable Buenos Aires are home to superb restaurants, art galleries, museums, the magnificent Teatro de Colon and the brightly colored houses of La Boca barrio. As the sun sets, Recoleta awakens and the passionate melodies of the tango rise from the milangas along San Telmo’s cobbled streets.
Few cities in South America share the ambiance, lifestyle and amenities that make Buenos Aires so endearing.
